weekending

weekending. my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just be. if you’d like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to your weekend post or flickr photo in the comments.

this weekend was long and easy going
kids running around the yard, kids in the hose
there were walks around the neighborhood
feeding the ducks
homemade popsicles
and well, lots and lots of nothing
despite all the nothing there was lots of laughter and silliness
laying in bed last night nursing the little bit
the mr. playing words with friends
reading me letters when he was dealt a crap hand
him: iitqewe. seriously? what am i supposed to do with that?
me: (in my most affected voice possible) T double E double R…*
him erupting in riotous laughter because he gets me, my wacky sense of humor
it was one of those weekends that helped me remember
how very lucky i am to be here and part of all of this love
mad, crazy love

the laughter and the silliness are often the best by-products of doing nothing. it all sounds wonderful!

You are so right. Doesn’t it just make it all the better with a guy who gets you. Your weekend sounds perfect, stillness and popsicles and laughter. It’s what we all should have, regardless of a holiday. How did you do on sugar’s big day with your plan? I thought of you as I polished of my second pound of mini eggs, thought I should follow suit, or at least cut back. Love your top picture, it compliments your words so well.

Your weekend might have been event free but it was the best kind of “nothing” to me! Here’s my weekend, a little late : http://pumpkinsunrise.blogspot.com/2012/04/gathering.html

Your weekend is reminding me a lot of my world when I was a little one – lovely in a nice, slow, old-fashioned kind of way.

we made it a four day weekend. And still not long enough.
