weekending. my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just be. if you’d like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to your weekend post or flickr photo in the comments, or post it on the fb page.
+++++

the weekend started early
an afternoon spent in the mud so the red bean could
love on the horses, whisper sweet words in those soft ears
coming home to find company
later, a text from the cousin and i had a house full for an
impromptu evening of food and wine and chocolate
going to bed very late friday night, hoarse from the talking and laughing
sneaking out early saturday morning in search of
a few quiet hours in my favorite café
returning home to find another friend, losing a few hours chasing rabbits*
late afternoon neighborhood walk and an evening spent
finishing season one of this
and this morning i woke up to the sounds of this
the mighty nacho curled up on the sofa watching and whisper-singing along
if you don’t have this or this you should get them, they’re brilliant and
very much loved around here
as it is a grey, rainy day here i have big plans for the afternoon: sit on the sofa and read
pretty sure there is not better way to pass a grey day
how was your weekend?
* for all my animal loving friends, we didn’t literally chase rabbits. it’s just an expression.

Our weekend was full of birthday company, very loud shrieking 8 and 9-year-olds…but lots of fun!
Our weekend has been all about the chickens (not really, but it feels that way). Saturday I worked on gnomes for the shop (to raise money for said chickens) and today we’ve spent the morning cleaning up the back jungle.. I mean, yard (to eventually house the chickens). Backyard. Right. (:

What fun. I need to lo into those movies for the Toddler. She would love them, i think! Our weekend was the type that could have been disastrous, but wasn’t. I’m so grateful!

Your Friday night sounds like it was so enjoyble and filled with so much love. Impromptu dinners really are so much fun.
Did you enjoy Game of Thrones? I have wanted to read the books, but just haven’t made it that far yet.
Enjoy your rainy afternoon. The rain is headed my way tomorrow, which we need, just not the 5 inches they are calling for all at once.

you are so lucky to have family about! I think I miss that the most. Our weekend was very dull but I got lots of knitting done! Have fun reading away the gray afternoon!!

I know all about “chasing rabbits”. We love Wind in the Willows around here. Have you seen Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride with Terry Jones and John Cleese? Love the costuming in it.
I think your day’s plans are perfect.
My mum has a huge stack of the Game of Thrones books; I’m looking forward to getting stuck in the next one when I visit next time.
Our weekend was pompoms and music, mostlu

I love that you were able to chase rabbits and find time to read. We are fans of The Wind in Willows as well. Oh and how lucky your red bean is to live near horses to nuzzle. My Miss A would be oh so jealous.

It was a cold, windy, grey day yesterday and there is nothing better than sitting and reading. Unless it is sitting and knitting. Which is what I did!

Oh, that sounds so perfectly lovely! One of my favorite parts of the weekend was curling up on the couch to write. But we also went to a dance and had a lot of cheesy fun

Spent most of my weekend on the road (close to 400 miles, all told) with Number One Son and his girlfriend…and actually enjoyed most of it.
Wind in the Willows….awesome stuff!
i think they’re from the 80′s so it is probably the movies you remember
Sounds like a very full weekend indeed! Steve LOVES Game of Thrones. I remain, as of yet, uninitiated.
Our weekend: http://alifesustained.blogspot.com/2013/02/weekending.html
this weekend was spent quiet, trying not to think too much, bookbinding which was soothing, spending time with my husband, having tea with friends
..
will have to share wind in the willows with the kids. btw, we read wolf story–loved it, and I purchased some fire cider, awesome, thanks Amanda
